A sampling of media, my writing, and presentations:

August 2024 podcast episode on Herbs with Rosalee, a wonderful podcast hosted by Rosalee de la Forêt. For each episode Rosalee interviews an herbalist, and they do a deep dive into a medicinal plant of the guest's choosing. I chose self-heal (Prunella vulgaris), a beautiful and fascinating herb.  An hour of discussion only scratched the surface!

  • If you prefer to watch talking heads (ha), the youtube version is here.

On June 2, 2024 I gave a presentation on Herbal Medicine in Colonial America at the Time and the Valleys Museum in Grahamsville, NY. The museum recorded the first half of it (not sure what happened there!), and it is available on their website here.

2023: I returned to Zamboni Funk's podcast What is the Time? for another freewheeling philosophical discussion about health, Chinese medicine, the heart and Heart-Mind, the planet...and stuff.  You can find it here.

2023 interview with MysticMag on my approach to herbalism, which you can find here.

10,000 Heroes Podcast with Nate Ramos: we go to some unplanned places in our discussion, as you can probably tell from the episode title, including: Tradition’s relationship to Science, what does a holistic approach really mean; evolution, life and death, fear of death and how that relates to how we live and what health means, and yeah, even some Covid politics...
Episode 29 with herbalist Richard Mandelbaum on the nuances of a holistic mindset and the power of near-death experiences.
Nate and his co-host Ankur also shared this shorter "debrief" of the interview which is worth a listen, and in which Nate discusses his work with me as a client in my herbal practice.

2022 on What is the Time? with ZamboniFunk (a former student of mine), a free-range discussion on youtube including forest bathing, earth loving, ecological health and human health, the definition of disease and health, Gaia theory, Lyme disease, and herbalism.

2021: featured in BBC video Is ashwagandha the new super herb?

Interview discussion on Fortifying the Immune System Naturally, with Mark Finguerra of Finding Whole Health as the interviewer. This is more a philosophical discussion of how we can view ourselves and our immune system, and our relationship with the planet. It is a re-framing of how we think about health, ecology, and our immune systems, more than a discussion of specific remedies.

Featured in docu-series Finding Peace, Episode 5 Herbalism.

Podcast interview on the What’s the Juice podcast with Organic Olivia, focused on Lyme disease. This is not so much a discussion of specific herbs or remedies, but a more big-picture conversation of how I think about Lyme and work with people with chronic Lyme disease. Here is the video of the interview on youtube.

Featured in docu-series: Remedy, Ancient Medicine for Modern Illness, 2018. I am in several of the episodes but featured in the one about Lyme disease.
